Building WorksPosted 31/3/10
For about the next three months Dingwall Health Centre is having extensive building works done on the roof of the building. This will restrict vehicular access and parking around the building. Parking is available at the main car park behind the Ross Memorial Hospital. Safe pedestrian and wheelchair access will be maintained to the Health Centre via the main entrance, and fire exit routes will be maintained.
Access to community nursing staff building at the rear of the Health Centre, including midwives, health visitors and school nurses will, for the duration of the building works, be through the Health Centre and out of the east door (down the yellow corridor past the nurse treatment room).
Please bear with us whilst this important work is carried out to make the building wind and watertight. We and the contractors involved will endeavour to minimise the disruption and inconvenience to those using and visiting the Health Centre during the construction work.
Repeat Prescription Requests Posted 30/3/10
The telephone system at Dingwall Medical Group is getting increasingly busy and we are increasingly concerned that urgent calls will not get through. Whilst it may appear convenient to phone for repeat prescriptions, this places a heavy demand on the practice and increases the risk of dispensing errors.
Dingwall Medical Group deals with an average of 800 repeat prescription requests each week, and in busy periods many more. We aim to process requests as soon as possible and in any event within two working days. Once the prescription has been signed by the doctor they can be: - 1) collected from the reception desk 2) delivered to the local chemist of your choice or 3) sent out to you (on receipt of a stamped and addressed envelope)
We are grateful to the majority of patients who, as advised, use the repeat re-order slips attached to their prescriptions to make their next request for a script.
From January 2010, Dingwall Medical Group aims to reduce the number of telephoned repeat prescription requests to only those which are genuine emergency requests. Please also note that, in an emergency, any pharmacist can provide a patient with a limited supply of repeat drugs without a prescription.
The following methods of requesting routine repeats are available, and patients are requested to use one of these:
1. Deliver your repeat prescription re-order slip to the Health Centre
2. Post your repeat prescription re-order slip to the Health Centre
3. Deliver your repeat prescription re-order slip to Boots or Lloyds Chemists, Dingwall
4. Fax your request to the Health Centre on 01349 862022
